Gifrific’s goal is to provide the best, most entertaining .gifs in an easy to view environment.
If a .gif can quickly entertain, inspire, shock, impress and/or express one’s feelings, it makes it through the Gifrific system. Animated .gifs are more and more becoming the way to react to things on the internet when you want to use more than just words.
Gifrific.com pools high quality gifs from around the interwebs and places them neatly on the current website you are viewing. High quality means…1. Either funny, amusing, shocking, interesting or any other positive adjective you can think of. 2. They load quickly. This idea came from the frustrations us internet folk have had over slow loading .gifs.
Why Animated .gifs?
Animated .gifs have improved mightily since the ‘Geocities’ era of the internet where cyberspace was filled with lame, low-quality spinning world and the dancing baby .gifs. The file extension has always gotten a bad name due to the poor quality. Today, that has changed. With the rise in Tumblr, Reddit, WordPress, Twitter and Facebook, the way we communicate has changed forever. We believe that animated .gifs will become an integral part of the future of communication.
Animated .gifs are a bit lost in cyberspace. They get thrown in with pictures when they’re not really pictures and they’re thrown in with videos when they’re not really videos. They fall somewhere in between and are now becoming a more effective, quicker, funnier way to react or entertain others on the internet. They need a stable home like how pictures have Imgur/Photobucket and videos have YouTube/Vimeo. Gifrific is the home of the best animated .gifs.
