Liz Lemon Gives Herself a High Five (30 Rock)

Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) giving herself a high five, then pointing during an episode of 30 Rock.

This Liz Lemon GIF is perfect for celebrating yourself, being proud of a small accomplishment, agreeing with your own idea, having no one else around to celebrate with, or giving yourself some well-deserved credit.

Liz giving herself a high five turns a celebration normally shared between two people into a perfectly self-contained victory. The gesture works especially well when you accomplish something on your own, make a good decision, or simply decide that you deserve some recognition.

The reaction also fits Liz Lemon’s combination of confidence and social awkwardness. Instead of waiting for someone else to acknowledge the moment, she provides her own celebration and immediately follows it with a confident point.

Liz is the head writer of the fictional sketch comedy show TGS, with Fey portraying her as a capable but frequently overwhelmed television writer trying to manage her career, coworkers, relationships, and personal life.

30 Rock GIFs capture the show’s fast-paced comedy and expressive characters, providing recognizable reactions for awkwardness, confidence, frustration, excitement, workplace problems, and celebrating the small victories of everyday life.
