Carlton Banks is Will Smith’s academically driven and often overly serious cousin in the show. His confidence, emotional reactions, and willingness to completely commit to a moment make Carlton one of the show’s most expressive characters.
Ribeiro’s physical comedy became an important part of Carlton’s personality throughout the series. While his famous dancing is the best-known example, moments like this dramatic slide show how Ribeiro could turn Carlton’s excitement, frustration, or sadness into memorable visual reactions.
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air GIFs remain popular because the show’s expressive characters and physical comedy provide memorable reactions for excitement, disappointment, confusion, celebration, frustration, and dramatic everyday situations.
