“Yes! That Is Awesome!” (Old School)

Peppers (Seann William Scott) yells “yes, that is awesome” to Frank Ricard (Will Ferrell) after he accidentally shoots a tranquilizer dart into his neck during a scene from the 2003 film Old School.

This movie reaction GIF featuring Scott and Ferrell is perfect for reactions to exciting news, celebrating a good idea, or enthusiastically agreeing with someone.

Peppers delivers the enthusiastic reaction after Frank accidentally fires a tranquilizer dart directly into his own neck. While Frank quickly begins feeling the effects of the drug, Peppers is amazed by what just happened, responding with “Yes! That is awesome!” and adding to the absurdity of the scene.

The tranquilizer scene became one of Old School’s most memorable sequences as Frank struggles to remain conscious while the drug rapidly takes effect. Ferrell’s increasingly impaired physical performance, combined with Peppers’ excitement over the accident, turns what should be a serious mistake into one of the movie’s most recognizable comedic moments.

Seann William Scott appears briefly as Peppers, but his enthusiastic reaction fits the energetic comedic persona he became known for in movies such as American Pie, Dude, Where’s My Car? and Role Models. His delivery makes the simple phrase an especially useful reaction for excitement and exaggerated approval.

Old School brought together Will Ferrell, Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, and a collection of memorable supporting characters in a comedy built around friendship, partying, and increasingly ridiculous decisions. Moments like Peppers celebrating Frank’s tranquilizer accident capture the exaggerated humor that helped make the film a recognizable 2000s comedy.

Old School reaction GIFs remain popular online because the film’s memorable comedy moments and energetic performances are easy to use in social media conversations and memes.
